Sparkly Elephant Card

I recently made this super cute and sparkly elephant card for a little girl in my life who was turning 1! The polka dot elephant is a free SVG from Cutting for Business. I cut it out in lilac and two shades of turquoise, and I just think it is adorable! I drew the eye in, as I just wanted a small dot. I attached the elephant using foam pads and layered him on various bits from my stash, including this amazing sparkly purple paper and some pearly purple paper. I was able to use some offcuts from making the card to decorate the envelope, which I always think is a cute addition :) I can see myself using this elephant more in the future!

Crochet Elephant Snuggie for Baby

I recently need a gender neutral present for a new born baby, and I wanted it to come together quickly and easily, but still be cute!

I used this pattern, and once I'd got my head round the granny square part it came together nicely! The grey and turquoise are both Stylecraft DK, and the white and cream are from my stash. I will definitely be making more of these, hopefully with different animals!

Crochet Elephant & Baby Card

A relative of ours just welcomed their first child into their lives, and I thought this elephant would make the perfect little gift!

I used this pattern, although I left out the fabric ears and tusks, and stitched eyes on instead of using safety eyes.

This is a crazy pattern though. You crochet from the top of the body down, and then make strings across the shell. The trunk and legs are then worked on to these sections, before a belly section is added. Was certainly a bit fiddly!

I love using my teddy punch to make baby cards, and this time I mixed things up with some of the papers from Craftseller magazine the other month. I love the colours from these papers.
