I know I've said this a lot, but this is another one which would be so exciting to do a more detailed version of. Can you imagine a full crocheted helmet?! And a little gun... Could have a whole army of them :)

Star Wars: Boba Fett
This is another one I did before watching the films... Now? I would add so many more details! Including a jet pack... *sigh*
I also made up my own cape pattern...!
I was wearing a Boba Fett helmet at my sister's house the other week - it made me want one...

Star Wars: R2D2
How can you not love R2-D2?!
With a few added details, both stitched and painted. And moving legs :)
Saying that, it would be fun to do a complete replica!

Outside Adventures
Beautiful sunset at Thurstaston.
Fresh Daffodils brightened up our lounge...
Blossoms down in Neston.
Captured against greyer skies.
Brambles looking like bronze, last signs of Autumn...
And a beautiful sunset in Neston.
Gorgeous silhouettes of trees...
And blossoms catching the last of the sun.
Life through my lens.

Star Wars: C3PO
C3PO! Need I say more?
I used the latest Tried and Tested Tip to complete the circles neatly.
And I also added a little back panel :) I combined several coloured wools to give the effect of the wired panel.

A Third Birthday [Classic Mini Canvas]
My youngest nephew turned 3 last week, and when I asked his Mum what his current fascinations were, the answers included the colour blue, and "classic Minis"... I spent a lot of time thinking, and realised I'd never actually given him a painting. I don't have a lot of time or energy atm, so I wanted something that I could make without hours of fiddling, and that would be suitable to grow up with him a bit.
After spending a while finding images and gathering inspiration, I looked at this image and adapted it into a stencil... A few coats of dark blue acrylic paint, and a quick bit of white spray painting later, and it was done!
I also used an (older!) needle on my sewing machine to try a new accenting technique with his Birthday card...
Think I'll be doing this a bit more in future! :)

Tried and Tested Tip Number 5 [Weaving in Crochet]
I thought I'd share another crochet tip with you this week. It's a small detail, but I think it can often be the smallest of details that makes or breaks any creation.
[And this is where I realise a color of wool other than grey would have made for much cheerier pictures!)
Here we have a basic circle I've crocheted, but I want to complete it so that it looks neat and finished...
Pass your needle under the next stitch along...
And it will look like this:
Go back down inside the stitch where you finished off...
And you will have a lovely completed circle like this:
Fasten off as you normally would...
And you're left with a perfect circle :)
Prefer a diagram? Try this...

Star Wars: Obi Wan Kenobi
Obi Wan Kenobi has the best lightsaber of the lot of them.
It's a cotton bud with the ends chopped off - who knew?!

Star Wars: Wicket the Ewok
And here's who the Sneak Peek on Facebook linked to!
Definitely another of my favourites, so cute! Would definitely put more detail into his hood now I've seen the film though ;) I may update him...
I love his weapon... Can you work out how I made it?
Thin wooden skewer, with the tip from a scratching tool glued on, and wrapped with string. I think it's quite effective :) And again, thanks to crochet, it can be inserted and removed from his paw :)

Mother's Day [Card & Present]
For my Mum on Mother's Day :)
Text printed onto turquoise paper.
Branch cut from the turquoise paper, and owl from pearly paper. Mounted on cream mountboard.
And a matching bookmark :)
I also deisgned this card for my mother and mother in law, love how my new sewing machine makes this possible!

Star Wars: Yoda
Walking stick made from a Christmas tree branch, and glued on.
I got to choose which present the husband opened today, and I went for my favourite of this little series... Yoda! He was one of the later ones I made, and I may have gone a bit more overboard with detail!
Eyes, eyelids, noise and mouth embroidered on, and his wispy hair brushed out (tutorial coming soon to Tried and Tested!)
Lightsaber attached to his belt ready to go! Made in the same way as Darth Vader's handle.

Sewing, Sewing, Sewing!
(And a bit of ramble about sewing machines!)
Things are insanely hectic round here at the moment, but I've been blessed to find a small amount of time each day to create for myself and for those around me.
If you've been following me for a while, you may be aware that I had a second hand sewing machine which only worked when it felt like it, and that wasn't very often... Well, the other week was the final straw. I lifted the foot up all the way, and it pushed a piece of metal out of place, which in turn pushed the tension dial off and sent it flying at me. The tension dial has been the source of all my problems, and we eventually decided enough was enough.
But you want to know what's amazing? I was given another second hand one. And this one works. Amazingly well. It even has an automatic needle threader - I didn't even know they existed, but I think my life is now complete. I've been working the little machine hard, and when my life has calmed down I think it deserves a good clean and a good oiling! (If you have items you no longer need, consider joining Freegle to share them with people who do... It's a brilliant site to give and receive.)
