Spiky Hedgehog Card

I was thinking the other day about different animals I could turn into card designs, having created an octopus, a dinosaur, and most recently a sheep. Given the time of year and the fact that I've been following some Hedgehog Sanctuaries on Facebook, my mind slipped to hedgehogs! They are such cute creatures who can be simplified into a few shapes - perfect for a card. This hedgehog features two layers of spikes - the back being slightly sparkly, and she has a bow in her hair spines, because even hedgehogs need to accessorise!

Christmas 2015 - Felt Gingerbread Couple

I've been meaning to make some gingerbread men ornaments out of felt for years, but I have struggled to find felt in just the right colour. This colour is not quite what I pictured in my head, but I have accepted it for now!

Both Mr and Mrs Gingerbread are made from two layers of felt, blanket-stitched together by hand, with a smiling hand-embroidered face, and a tartan ribbon to hang from. Mrs Gingerbread features a small skirt made from red stretch lace (leftover from another project) with a lovely Christmassy bow. Mr Gingerbread has a matching bow which he wears as a bow tie, and two smart gold sequins as buttons. They add some lovely cheer to our Christmas tree!

Crocheted Teddy Bear

Earlier this year, my husband gifted me a lovely book, Crocheted Bears by Val Pierce (it's actually part of the series "Twenty to Make", which I'm really enjoying!)

I created this bear on the basic shape (although I had to edit the pattern for the head, don't know what went wrong when I first tried!)

The skirt is from "Belinda Butterfly Bear", and then I just added a little bow to finish her off :)

I would like to think she's a beautiful little bear, and I can see myself making more!
